Each year for the Circleville Pumpkin Show we try to create some type of game, puzzle, dice game or something. This year we went a little more traditional and created the 2011 Circleville Pumpkin Show Souvenir Deck. Normally we create the fancy decks with card faces that were unique in some way. The problem then is we kept having folks wanting us to create a “normal” souvenir deck of cards that they could use for everyday purposes.
“NEWTROPOLIS & The Fantastic Fur” is the latest deck of cards created by UK artist Peter Wood exclusively for Newt’s Playing Cards! Peter has always been a huge fan of comic book superheroes and remembers reading them as a young boy a ‘few’ years ago. Likewise, he loves to draw teddy bears. Together, this deck features Peter’s “Super Teddy Bears”, straight from his own imagination. While he freely admits that some are parodies of famous comic book heroes and villains, most are inspired from every day life.
Here is a cool deck from Newt’s Games & Playing Cards and “THE” Playing Card Artist, Peter Wood called Cats Pips and Paws which features Hidden Images on the card face of each card with cute cats. We have created Cats Pips and Paws with “hidden images” to add a fun dimension to card playing. The way it works is we have hidden all of the suits (also called pips) on each card. So basically, if you have the 5 of diamonds, then the 5 diamonds are actually “hidden” within the image around or on the cat. Are you good enough to find them all? Likewise, if you have the 4 of Spades, there are 4 spades “hidden” within the image or actually on the cat. Click on image or link to view samples of deck…
